The Alma United Methodist Church offers a number of opportunities for individuals and groups to study the scriptures and deepen our knowledge and commitment to God and the life of faithful discipleship.
Wednesday Evening Prayer & Bible Study
We offer prayer and Bible study each Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. in the choir room. On weeks we have Wednesday night suppers, we have a devotional in the fellowship hall after the meal. We explore a variety of topics and studies from simple, scripture-based lessons to video series and book studies by some of the most popular Christian leaders, teachers, and writers in the United Methodist church and beyond.
Sunday School
There are a number of classes who meet at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings that exist to lead people into deeper faith connections and to expand our understanding of God and grow in our faith.
We have the following adult Sunday School classes:
The children & youth classes meet in the children's building and offer opportunities for kids of all ages to experience the lessons of the Bible with hands-on activities, craft projects, music, drama, storytelling and more.
Sunday School attendance is encouraged by offering awards for those who are faithful and earn perfect attendance for the year. Each Sunday School class is encouraged to maintain records and let the Sunday School superintendent know when a pin needs to be awarded. Attending Sunday School offers many rewards for your faith journey, but we would like to hold the standard as weekly attendance. Attending worship at another church when you are out of town will count toward your attendance, so be sure to bring your order of worship to your Sunday School teacher for credit.
